Technology companies seeking to revolutionise the way we participate in, interact with, and manage sport gathered from around the world as the inaugural cohort of the Gold Coast Innovation Hub’s PLAY Accelerator series.
Application assessors were set with a hard task in selecting participants as there was such an outstanding response from sportstech startups locally, nationally, and internationally.
Gold Coast Innovation Hub CEO, Sharon Hunneybell said the international interest in the program was thanks to the great partnerships that the organisation has been building with investors, incubators and the international trade sector over the past 2 years. “We are thrilled with the diversity of businesses in this first PLAY Accelerator cohort. Local participants are mixing with founders from the UAE, Russia, New Zealand and Townsville in regional Queensland all with the shared purpose of using technology to improve the way the world experiences and manages grassroots, professional and social sport.”

Proshaka is an online networking platform for the sporting community which connects Athletes, and their families, with industry contacts such as coaches, clubs, and sports scouts across multiple sports categories. It empowers Athletes and sporting professionals to have more control over how they connect and celebrate sport online, regardless of sports category, race, culture, gender, financial barriers, or location.
